Our Purpose

The purpose of First Baptist Carrollton is “to reach people for Jesus Christ and to develop them into His fully devoted followers.” Jesus told His apostles: “Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20 NLT). We desire to be a church in which its members daily practice "Lifestyle Christianity" in their hearts, homes, church, and world. "Lifestyle Christianity" means that a believer is blending his faith in Jesus Christ with all aspects of the believer's life.

  • The believer exhibits "Lifestyle Christianity" in his Heart by choosing to know Christ better through developing spiritual intimacy with God and walking in obedience to God in his personal life.
  • The believer exhibits "Lifestyle Christianity" in his Home by choosing to model Christ in his family relationships and in the use of his personal resources, including his time, talents, and money.
  • The believer exhibits "Lifestyle Christianity" in his Church by choosing to serve Christ through worshiping God authentically, building Christian community with other believers by involving himself in small groups within the church, and using his spiritual gifts and talents to serve the body of believers in the church.
  • The believer exhibits "Lifestyle Christianity" in his World by choosing to live Christ through sharing Christ's love to the people with whom he daily and regularly comes in contact and showing Christ's love through acts of services and kindness in the world and in his community.

We believe that Jesus’ words were meant, not only for the apostles of the New Testament times, but also for the church today. First Baptist Carrollton is committed to doing its part in fulfilling Christ’s Great Commission.
